What makes communication design simple yet impactful?
BH: To put forth a message upfront and in clear terms works best most times. Humor is always good; intrigue is another effective tool.
What are the skill sets required by a young designer entering the industry?
BH: The ability to translate their imagination and ideas on paper; to be able to communicate and share while taking constructive feedback. Curious individuals abreast with the latest and best are desirable.
What goes into designing and building a broadcast studio?
BH: The key components would be a studio floor/s with green rooms and lots of storage, equipment to capture the content most desirably, and a production control room (PCR) that is connected with a broadcast upload station. Design for a broadcast studio involves meticulous research and planning in outlining the nature of content that the studio will produce. Harboring multiple content pools, the space must lend itself to be flexible and malleable while being uncompromising on usability and function. In simpler terms, the design must accommodate maximum permutations and combinations to not limit the content production process. Factors of safety and accessibility also fall under the design domain.
