While crop disease is a challenge for farmers, irrigation and fertigation are the major issues. Farmers lack basic knowledge and data about their farms, which restricts them from taking irrigation and fertigation decisions at the right time. This also leads to a huge amount of water wastage. These factors result in inconsistent crop yield. Fyllo’s primary aim was to solve these problems for the farmers and improve their crop yield as well as save water at a viable cost.
A Solution That Works
Nero is a smart irrigation and fertigation system that provides alerts based on real-time farm data such as crop type, crop variety, crop stage, and soil condition, all accessible through an IoT device connected to the farmer’s phone. The design focuses on user-centric principles, requiring minimal expertise for installation, ensuring scalability. The app interface is kept simple and clean, allowing farmers to understand the data and take appropriate actions without needing external guidance.
Premium Features and User Experience
The device stands out as a premium product in terms of aesthetics and user experience, breaking the stereotype of regular agricultural equipment. It is self-installable, ergonomically designed, and comes with a step-by-step installation manual. The sensors and components are easily replaceable, ensuring longevity and ease of use. Farmers have access to 24×7 customer service support. The device is battery-powered and features a patented design approved by the Government of India.
In just four months, over 1,000 farmers benefited from this innovative solution. The system saved 8 billion litres of water and reduced water usage by 33%. Fertiliser usage has decreased by 20%, and 80% of the produce has reached export quality. Moreover, there is a 25% improvement in yield and consistency in production.
