How did your tryst with illustration begin?

RA: My love for illustration started in school when I used to draw on the backs of my notebooks out of boredom. Since I don’t belong to an art oriented family, the idea of becoming an artist was still vague in my mind. My relationship with the pencil grew out of the need to express my feelings and tell stories through visuals.

How has social media impacted your work?

RA: It has broadened the door of opportunities and inspiration for many artists. You can showcase your work on platforms like Instagram, behance and art-station. You can connect with like-minded people and get inspired by artists you follow, regardless of their location. Work-wise, social media has increased the opportunities for freelance artists to work with overseas clients.

How has the ongoing pandemic impacted your design domain?

RA: Being an illustrator, I was always busy with commercial projects. However, this pandemic has allowed me to spend time with family and do things I’ve wanted to do for a long time. It was a good period to enjoy some live sketching and watch some long pending series on Netflix.
