For illustrator/designer, Yogesh Bhusare, doing work that involves a lot of travel is the ideal scenario
Do you intend to branch out on your own?
YB: Through all the ups and downs in my life I have always believed in one thing – hard work pays off, maybe not immediately, but someday it does. I think it is a combination of feeling inspired and the ability to execute the ideas based on those inspirations. An awesome concept in the mind will be useless without the proper skill, discipline and style to make it materialize. Like every other designer, I have always wanted to start my own design firm or studio. The dream is still a work in progress. I am hoping to start a full-fledged studio called Awwsome in 2022.
Who or what inspires you?
YB: Sameer Kulavoor and Ruchi Shah have been the most influential personalities throughout my career in design. Sameer Kulavoor is a visual artist whose work lies at the intersection of art, graphic design and contemporary illustration. Ruchi Shah is an illustrator who quit Yahoo to work as an art facilitator in schools in remote tribal areas.
Traveling is the core source of inspiration for me. I get to know people and observing them helps my work smoothly.
What do awards and recognition mean to you?
YB: When I started my carrier as an illustrator/ designer, I never got into the awards thing. I just wanted to practice and work on my own skills, and focus on polishing my art. As you gain experience and work in the commercial world you get to know that along with hard work, rewards are also important – they help your art or idea reach a larger audience. Awards do help in overall growth and boost your energy to work hard, but only after you have honed your skills first.
