BACK STORY: SUDHIR SHARMA

Editor in Chief Sudhir Sharma looks back on a journey that started with a unique magazine called POOL that transitioned into a respected publication called DesignIndia. It’s not over yet, he assures.

BACK STORY: MARIANNA SHARMA

A Director at IndiDesign, Marianna has a Master’s in Marketing from Kyiv University, and is a Design graduate from the School of Visual Communication in Kyiv. She has worked on project strategies for many clients, and has been leading user / consumer studies, and qualitative design research at Indi.

Marianna has been part of DesignIndia Magazine’s editorial team for the last six years. She has also been leading the design of the publication in print and digital media.

An unshakable optimist, Marianna is passionate about books, poetry, Indian cuisine and urban gardening.

BACK STORY: ANSHIKA SETH

After obtaining a Bachelor’s in Fashion Communication from the National Institute of Fashion Technology Patna, Anshika worked at IndiDesign Studio as a Visual Designer. Her responsibilities included interviewing designers and designing articles for DesignIndia magazine. She also helped with organizing India’s Best Design Awards; this included designing visuals for communication, interacting with participants and the jury, and co-hosting the Awards for two years. Anshika is currently pursuing a Master’s in Design for Retail Experience at National Institute of Design, Bangalore. She tries to find time to listen to music, read, and put her thoughts into words through poems and stories.

BACK STORY: ASHVINA VAKIL

Once a journalist and magazine editor, Ashvina quit the mainstream almost 25 years ago to work at her own pace on diverse writing and editing projects. Being associated with Pool/ DesignIndia has been one of the most enjoyable parts of that journey. Despite spending her working hours staring at words, Ashvina will always remain a diehard book lover. Add some music and chocolate to the mix, and life couldn’t be better!

BACK STORY: NILESH KAMBLE

IndiDesign’s graphic design expert, Nilesh holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree. He looks after the concepts and ideas behind all the brands that IndiDesign manages, including well-established ones like Bajaj, GMR, and Bhikaram Chandmal. Nilesh has been associated with DesignIndia Magazine since 2016; the design and layout of the magazine is his responsibility, from cover page to advertisements. A designer at heart, Nilesh spends a lot of his free time doing calligraphy; he also enjoys cycling, watching movies, and listening to music.

BACK STORY: PALLAVI JAIN

A Chartered Accountant and an alumnus of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Pallavi is currently Head of Design and Strategy at IndiDesign. Her inclination for art, her imagination and her desire to bring about positive change led to her becoming a designer and illustrator. She works as a consultant to build brands as well as businesses and is an avid creator who loves

to dabble in different artistic mediums. Pallavi also teaches at premier design institutes in India. She believes children inspire change for a better tomorrow.

In her free time she works on children’s storybooks, drawing from various experiences and environments to create a magical world.

BACK STORY: TARUN THAKKAR

An MBA by qualification, Tarun plays an important gatekeeping role between the design team at IndiDesign and clients. He has been associated with the magazine since its initial years and coordinates all the marketing activities for the publication. Tarun loves to be on the road and is passionate about traveling and driving.

BACK STORY: DEEPAK GAUTAM

The dependable finance and human resources man at IndiDesign, Deepak holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing. Deepak has been with DesignIndia Magazine since its ninth issue and manages subscriptions and communication with vendors and customers. Recently introduced to the practice of yoga, he is passionate about traveling and driving. He also enjoys cooking and listening to music. A fun loving person, Deepak is always ready for adventure and loves spending time with family and friends.

BACK STORY: SATYAJIT HARPUDE

IndiDesign’s Photoshop expert, Satyajeet works as an Artwork Assistant and has been associated with DesignIndia Magazine since 2011. He handles all the photo correction and photo processing for the magazine cover. A hardcore biker, Satyajeet loves long biking trips to destinations like Nepal and Leh-Ladakh. Not surprisingly, he also enjoys nature photography.

BACK STORY: PRADEEP ARORA

Pradeepji, as he is called by the rest of the team,
has been with IndiDesign, and DesignIndia Magazine, from the very beginning. While he heads the Accounts Department at IndiDesign, he also plays a crucial role at DesignIndia Magazine by handling all the technical issues required to make the magazine print- ready. When not working, Pradeepji can be found watching movies.
