What is the design philosophy of ‘A square designs’?
AA: The primary ethic of our design philosophy is to understand individuals, how they live and how they engage with their space. I insist that my team focuses on details, such that every detail comes together as tailored-to-perfection design. I believe in creating a timeless environment that is attractive and meaningful, one that transcends the notion of what is simply ‘trending’. As a design house, ‘A square designs’ implements interior jobs from grain to bread – including client consultation, space planning, design detailing, execution to perfection, and fine workmanship.
What does it take to curate spaces for people?
AA: We design and implement interior jobs from scratch. The studio services the client with a justifiably elaborate tactile experience through mood board presentations and material swatches. Intimate attention to ‘detailing’ and tastefully putting things together will create exquisite interiors. Planning spaces well and focusing on its execution with fine workmanship is important.
Share your experience of being a columnist for The Telegraph.
AA: In 2007, Shradha Agarwal, a friend and journalist with The Telegraph, mentioned t2, a daily tabloid that was being launched as a supplement to the main newspaper. As ‘interiors’ has become an important segment in lifestyle reporting, she suggested that I take up writing and share my stories and experiences on this subject. I wrote a regular column for a few years, and still do when I get some time. It’s interesting to put my thoughts together and express myself. I am overwhelmed when readers tell me that they have used some of the ideas and tips.
