How heirlooms are born

ISSUE: 136

Inspired by Indian history and heritage, Ridhi Asrani designs jewellery for women who are not afraid to be trailblazers

How does your brand contribute to slow fashion?

RA: We manufacture in limited quantities and also aim to do fewer styles per collection so as to not end up with extra inventories. All pieces can be re-polished so you can hold onto them for years if you take good care of them.

How do you plan to expand your brand?

RA: Since a major chunk of my customer base seems to be overseas I definitely plan to expand into hotspots like Dubai, Hong Kong, and New York to reach a wider base. Right now, I am working on my next collection and looking to add new product categories with it.

Tell us about your furniture design aspirations.

RA: I love working with stones and crystals as I’ve studied energy work and quantum physics. There is no better design stimulus than in Mother Nature. Stones also have their own energetic impact and are stunning to look at and have in your space. I’d love to create trinket trays that let you keep your jewelled treasures, bedside consoles, and decor accents that help highlight and beautify a space. This is something I look forward to exploring in the long term.
